To say I enjoy having this site & blog section of my website, would be an understatement. I thoroughly enjoy the story behind my photo sessions as well as being able to have their sessions online so that the family/clients can share with their friends and family members near & far!!

Welcome the "M" family to the blog! This is also another time sensitive session due to the son/brother serving in the military and being stationed in another state. He was only home for a couple weeks for the holidays.

Picture
This session was a blast. The youngest son's personality was killer. I would pull out the camera & he would strike a different pose with every click of the shutter. The daughter was the one who pulled this whole session together for her mom for a Christmas gift. And what a fun gift it was. It had been YEARS since they had a family shoot!

What a family full of unique and silly personalities! Let me tell you, dad (center photo with hat) was making me laugh so hard!! He would laugh and smile up a storm when we were just walking from spot to spot, and then the moment I had the camera out with him in my sights, he would go to a straight face. But no worries! I caught some candid smiles for the family! We ended this chilly session with the above family shot. Casual, pulling everyone together, close, like a family should be! I hope you enjoy this session!!

J Flyy - Maternity - Winter Wonderland

So if you have read any of my narration under my "Maternity" section of this website, you will see how important I feel it is for mommy to capture her beautiful growing belly sometime in her pregnancy, and in my opinion later is better than sooner!

With that being said, this mommy was NOT a fan about me making her wait from Thanksgiving time until Christmas time so that her belly wasn't just looking like an after Turkey bloat.

Picture
Do you blame me?
Now a little back ground on this beautiful growing family. Daddy-to-be is living across the US coaching a college basketball team. While the glowing mommy-to-be spends hours a day chasing after 10 plus 3-4 year olds, while she teaches a preschool (in which my son attends.. bless her heart). So we had a VERY small window to do this shoot. Daddy was only coming home for THREE days during the holiday break. And of course, as normal Lassen County weather has it, it was storming all week, INCLUDING the day of our shoot.

Mommy & Daddy wanted some snow though, but of course white out conditions would enable my lens to capture anything outside of white speckles everywhere.

We were getting nervous as our start time neared and it was literally a blizzard outside. But it made things easier, because if it was to stop some, just for 45-60 minutes, we wouldn't have to drive to the mountains to shoot this. It was a miracle when the clouds dried up, the sun peaked behind the coulds, and a mountain right behind our houses held thee perfect scenery for this beautiful maternity shoot.

Dad stepped out of the car with jokes (hence this blog's title). Told me he is more of a performer than one to be serious and pose. And as mom describes it, that's what their relationship, and family, are all about. Humor, Laughter, Smiles, and LOTS of LOVE.

The boys were troopers too. They were always a constant helping hand. As a photographer you need a million hands, for props, for ideas, for anything. And it is so sweet to have two young gentleman totally willing to help me out when need be. OH and when they looked at their mom... when they placed their not so small hands on their mommy's growing belly... you not only could see mom gleam with pride and joy over her three boys, but that pride & joy was radiating off of her growing babies as well.

So here it is, for all the family near AND far, cause I know not only daddy but ALL of daddy's family is not so close. I hope you enjoy this growing family as much as I did for our shoot!!! I cannot wait to meet this little gentleman!

I absolutely love shooting families that I know. And in this case, I loved shooting a family that IS my family! Meet my brother & sister-in-law and my beautiful nieces and handsome nephew!
Picture
It started off as a very chilly Saturday morning at the end of November. This cute little family jumped out of their car, bundled in blankets & scarves but their smiles showed the cold didn't bother them at all (at least the kids, mom & dad were a little chilled). Dad helped carry a lot of the things I brought to use for the kids, while mom and I tried rallying the kids as quickly as possible to our first destination. Did I mention, we brought my 3 kiddos as well, to do a cousin shot!! Well the day went a lot nicer than I expected with 6 kiddos and freezing tempertatures. From the girls keeping the babies warm, to being bundled in multiple layers of different blankets. We rushed from spot to spot, but hit our perfect smiles every click of the shutter. Then finished out the session with a muddy and red nosed trip for hot cocoa to Starbucks! Ok - So I may be a little bias, but I LOVED these shots!! Enjoy checking out our session!
